Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect data displayed in the comment form, as well as visitor IP addresses and a user’s browser agent string to help identify spam.

An anonymous string generated from your email address (also called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to see if you use it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can enable your name, email address and website to be stored in cookies. This is for your convenience, so that you do not need to re-fill in your details when you next leave a comment. These cookies will be stored for 1 year.

If you have an account on the site and log in we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser supports cookies, the cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This way, we can automatically detect and approve each subsequent comment instead of keeping them in a queue for moderation.

For users who register on our site, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators may also view and edit this information.

What rights you have in relation to your data

If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
